Welcome Shalonda, the new Voice of Altrus!
Originally from Tifton, Georgia, where she was a Track Star for the Tift County Blue Devils, Shalonda is our new high energy Altrus Switchboard Operator. Now you can put a pretty face with that great voice!
If you have called our office lately, you have likely been greeted by Shalonda’s warm and confident voice. Having been with us for only a few weeks, Shalonda has excelled in her new job and is proving to be a Star yet again! She has a way of grabbing hold of the person who can most help you. Guess that’s cause she’s faster than all the rest of us!
Shalonda has over 15 years’ experience in customer service, and it shows. She says that she is passionate about conveying hope to others and that one can always learn and grow. Shalonda’s favorite phrase is “Believing is Stronger than Thinking.” She says that her exceptional customer service skills derive from practicing the 3 E’s of Engagement: Encounter, Exchange, and Express. In 2012, Shalonda gained employment with Nightingale Services after giving birth to her now 5 year old son, Melvin Jr. Shalonda says this is where she experienced her true purpose in life. “As a scheduling coordinator, I can recall myself scheduling caregivers, and when they did not show up to provide the service, I would get up from my desk, change into my creased scrubs and go provide the services that client needed, no matter the distance.”
Shalonda explained her strong commitment by stating, “I shine not only for the company that I work for, but for the members as well. I love leaving my desk in the afternoon knowing I did my best.” Shalonda plans to attend Savannah State College in the fall of 2017, where she will be working toward a Masters degree in Social Work.
